A quote is how Turnstile handles the sales side of a deal. Once a quote is signed or accepted via checkout, it automatically becomes a subscription.
To start, click Create quote on the homepage or go to Quotes > Create quote in the sidebar.
For a full reference on every quote option, see creating a quote and sending quotes.
Choose your customer and deal
Begin typing the customer name in the Enter a customer field. If you have a CRM connected, data is pulled directly from your CRM. If a customer is not listed, you can add them directly in Turnstile, and the record will be written back to your CRM.
Select the Deal associated with this quote, or click + Create new deal if one does not exist yet.
Select a plan or start a custom quote
If you have published plans, select one from the dropdown. Products, pricing, and billing defaults will populate automatically. If you do not have plans set up yet, choose Custom quote and add products manually.
Tip: You can create a plan directly from a custom quote. On any draft quote, click the ... menu in the top right and select Create plan. This is a useful shortcut if you have already configured a quote and want to reuse that setup for future deals.
Set quote details
Configure the following before adding products:
Offer valid thru: The date the quote expires. After this date, the customer cannot sign. You can extend the date and resend if needed.
Service start date: Choose a fixed date, today, or upon agreement (set to the date the quote is signed).
Duration: Defaults to one year. Click the duration to change it using an end date or a preset.
Auto-renew: Optionally toggle on auto-renewal so the subscription renews automatically at the end of the term.
Add products and configure pricing
Use the Enter product bar to locate and add products from your catalog, or type a new name to create one on the fly, and it'll be added to your catalog for future use.
For each product, click Select pricing type to choose how it is priced. You can also add discounts at the line-item level by clicking the tag icon, and use phases to structure ramp deals with different pricing across multiple time periods.
Set billing frequency
Billing frequency controls how often your customer is invoiced. Your options are monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual. Click Preview invoices next to the billing frequency to see the full invoice schedule before sending.
Review and send
When the quote is complete, click Review and send. In the review workflow, choose your delivery method:
E-signature: The quote is sent to your customer and your internal signer. You can configure the signing order before sending. Track progress using Event history on the quote page.
Checkout page: Turnstile generates a link you send directly to your customer. You choose whether payment is required at the time of acceptance.
Share link: Copies a link to the quote you can send manually. Useful if you want to send from your own email address or cc additional recipients.
Once both parties have signed or the customer has completed checkout, the quote automatically becomes a subscription.
