Overview
In this article, we will discuss how to renew a subscription in Turnstile. Only active, lapsed and inactive subscriptions can be renewed.
How to Renew a Subscription
On the Customer page in the Subscriptions section, locate the subscription you'd like to renew, then click the Manage dropdown and select Renew.
Once you select Renew, you will choose a renewal path in the pop up window. There are two options for how you can renew a subscription:
via Add subscription- Renew subscription without customer signature
via Create quote- Renew subscription with customer signature required
After making your selection, click Renew subscription to begin the renewal path.
1. Renew via Add Subscription
1. Renew via Add Subscription
When you choose to renew via Add subscription, you will be routed a subscription creation page with subscription details populated and a service period that begins one day after your active subscription ends.
You have the option to edit the following for your renewing subscription:
Pricing Terms
Billing
Terms & conditions
You may edit the service dates of the renewal, but the dates cannot overlap with your active subscription. If you need to extend the dates of your active subscription, it is best to amend the active subscription then create a renewal afterwards.
Review and create subscription renewal
Once you have crafted your subscription renewal, click Review in the top right corner to recap your subscription details. After you have confirmed the renewal is set up as you desired, click Create subscription.
The subscription will appear on the customer page nested underneath the active subscription it was created from and will have a status of Upcoming.
2. Renew via Create quote
2. Renew via Create quote
When you choose to renew via Create quote, you will be routed a quote creation page with the parent subscription details populated and a service period that begins one day after your active subscription ends.
You may edit the service dates of the renewal, but the dates cannot overlap with your active subscription. If you need to extend the dates of your active subscription, it is best to amend the active subscription, then create a renewal afterwards.
Review and send quote for renewal
Once you have crafted your quote renewal, click Review and send in the top right corner to recap your quote details. For more guidance on the quote review and send process, view the Sending Quotes article.
Once the quote is signed, it will appear on the Customer page as a subscription.
A subscription can only be renewed once, after the renewal subscription is created, the Renew button will be greyed out for the original subscription.
