Create a plan from a quote or subscription

Learn how to save an existing quote or subscription as a reusable plan in the Turnstile catalog

This article covers creating a plan from a quote or subscription. If you'd like to create a plan from scratch, see our article on creating and editing plans.

If you have already configured a quote or subscription with the products, pricing, and billing settings you want to reuse, you can save that configuration directly as a plan in the catalog. This is useful when you have built a custom quote or added a subscription manually and want to standardize that setup for future use.

Create a plan from a quote

You can create a plan from any draft or sent quote. The plan will be pre-populated with the quote's products, pricing, and billing details, which you can review and adjust before publishing.

To create a plan from a quote:

  1. Go to Quotes > All quotes, or open an individual quote.

  2. Click the ... menu.

  3. Select Create plan. The plan editor will open in the catalog with the quote's configuration pre-populated.

  4. Review the plan name, products, pricing, and billing details. Make any adjustments needed.

  5. Click Publish to save the plan and make it available for future quotes and subscriptions.

Creating a plan from a quote does not modify the original quote. Changes you make in the plan editor only affect the new plan.

Create a plan from a subscription

You can create a plan from any existing subscription. This is particularly useful when you have added a subscription manually and want to save that configuration as a reusable starting point for future quotes or subscriptions.

To create a plan from a subscription:

  1. Go to Customers > All subscriptions.

  2. Click the ... menu next to the subscription.

  3. Select Create plan. The plan editor will open in the catalog with the subscription's configuration pre-populated.

  4. Review the plan name, products, pricing, and billing details. Make any adjustments needed.

  5. Click Publish to save the plan and make it available for future quotes and subscriptions.

Creating a plan from a subscription does not modify the original subscription. Changes you make in the plan editor only affect the new plan.
