Overview
In this article, we will discuss how to amend a subscription in Turnstile. Common use cases for subscription amendments are:
Changing a product price in the next billing period
Adding or removing a product in the next billing period
Extending or reducing contract length
When amending a subscription, you can update the following areas:

Billing
Terms and conditions
On the customer page in the subscriptions section, select your subscription by choosing the appropriate tile, then click the Manage dropdown and select Amend.
Important: You cannot amend the start date of a created subscription. If you need to change the service start date of an upcoming subscription, you will need to reach out to Turnstile support.
1. Select amendment effective date
After clicking Amend, you will need to select the Amendment effective date from the pop-up window. This will be the date your changes will become active for the subscription. The listed effective dates are based on the invoice schedule of the subscription, but you have the option to select custom date in the bottom left of the pop-up window. We recommend having the amendment effective date aligned with an invoicing date if possible.

Note: Selecting a custom date could create a prorated invoice for the partial period of service.
2. Amend the subscription
Once you have selected your amendment effective date, click Next and you will be brought to the amendment details page. Here, you can make the desired changes to the subscription.
Changes to your subscription will be highlighted in purple to assist in tracking what you have updated along the way.

3. Review & confirm
To review your subscription amendments, click Review & confirm in the top right corner of the page. A pop-up will appear with a side by side comparison of the original subscription and the amended subscription with changes highlighted.

Then click Next: Invoice Schedule at the bottom of the pop-up to review the total contract value and invoice schedule amendments. The effective date will be highlighted in within the invoice schedule.

4. Confirm amendment
Click Confirm amendment in the bottom right corner to update the subscription with your changes. After confirming, you will be brought back to the customer page to your amended subscription.
The customer page will display your amended subscription as well as the upcoming invoices connected to it in the invoices section of the page. You will see the product(s) split into phases to represent the former subscription and the amended subscription.
