Overview
In this article, we will discuss how to customize pricing for your individual products as you create quotes and subscriptions.
Product Details Window
When you are adding products to a quote or subscription, you can access the Product details window by clicking the pop-out box icon to the right of the of the specific product row. The product details window gives you additional fee and billing options for your product depending on the pricing type.
Fee and License Product Details
If your product has a Fee or License pricing type, the product detail options are:
Selecting if the product will be billed In arrears or In advance (in advance is the default)
In arrears- The product is billed at the end of the service period
In advance- The product is billed at the beginning of the service period
If the product is included by toggling on Display as 'Included'
If a product is displayed as included, it will no longer have a price and will have 'Included' in the total column of the quote.
Usage Product Details
If your product has a Usage, Committed Usage or Percentage pricing type, the product detail options are:
Batch: A group of units being sold (batch size is 1 by default)
Batching gives you to bill a product in bulk
Tier type: How pricing will be affected as usage increases
Volume- Applies the same rate to all units in the range.
Graduated- Applies different rates to each tier based on quantity.
Example:
Product with a quantity of 150 units
Tier 1: 1-100 units at $3/unit
Tier 2: 101+ units at $2/unit
Volume: All 150 units charged at $2 = $300 total
Graduated: 100 units at $3 + 50 units at $2 = $400 total
Adding a pre-purchased amount:
For the usage pricing type, click Add to include Precommitted usage
For the percentage pricing type, toggle on Include prepurchase
Important: When adding a batch size, you must change the unit display to Show batch size and unit name in the quote under the unit cost to enable.
